Customer Management

Many features in POSitive are customer oriented and allow you to serve your customers better by knowing who they are, what they like, and tools for keeping in touch with them.

In addition to the information in the Orientation section about the Customer Center and Customer Master menu the following topics should prove useful for working more effectively with your customers.

Customer Authorized Buyer - this is generally used for businesses but can be used to list additional family members who will purchase on the same account

Customer Categories - this is a simply way to classify your customers into various groups or types.  These customer categories can fill in repetitious information which will help save you time.

Customer Consignments - you may accept product from your customers as consignments for resale

Customer Credit Cards - for your loyal customers, you can choose to retain their credit card numberss in an encrypted file for security reasons, but easily access them when tendering invoices.

Customer Discounts Edit a customer record and choose the Terms tab and the Discount Button - for your best customers, you can assign them permanent discounts for all items within a given category which are automatically applied at as the products are purchased.

Customer E-mails Edit the customer and enter a primary e-mail address.  Edit Shipping Addresses and utilize separate e-mail addresses,   Edit Phones and add more contacts phones and e-mail addresses. - maintain multiple e-mail addresses per customer.  Send copies of invoices, orders, and other messages to your customers.

Customer Exporter - create a text or Excel file of customer information for mailings or other services

Customer Find - is an excellent tool for finding a customer if you only know the address of a customer, or if you are searching for all customers who are part of a user defined grouping.

Customer Found - is a method for avoiding entering the same customer into the customer list more than once.

Customer Importer - if you have an electronic list of customers, you can save time by importing the list into POSitive

Customer Labels - you may print special ship to or bill to labels for each customer.  These labels are pre-defined, but you may edit them and/or create your own specialized labels.

Customer Marketing - sends e-mails to all or selected Customers with a message or invitation of your choice.  

Customer Merge - when you discover that a specific customer has been added twice to the customer list, there is a tool for merging all transactions into one customer record.

Customer Message - assign pop-up messages which notify the sales clerk of special needs when a customer is selected for an invoice or pending transaction.

Customer Notes - when you have the need, you can create and save simple notes about a customer to document issues and resolutions  (see also Document Manager)

Customer Phones Edit the customer record to record a cell phone.  Choose Phones to add more phone numbers - keep a record of additional phone numbers for the customer

Customer Picture - the picture can be of the individual, the customer's location, or of equipment to be serviced

Customer Rewards - you can automatically reward your loyal customers with points or store credit when using the Loyalty (Frequent Buyer) Program.

Customer Sales Rep Edit Customer Record and choose the Options tab and fill in the "Assigned Sales ID" - the customer may be assigned a specific sales person

Customer Selection - if you are in the middle of a Quick Sale invoice, a system setup allows you to quickly switch to a customer sale by simply entering the customer phone number, frequent buyer number, or lookup code.
