Serial numbered items are tracked very closely.  Each serial number has its own status settings.  These settings are changed automatically by POSitive as the item is received, sold, or returned.

This screen can be accessed through Inventory: Maintenance: Serial Number List and choose Edit.  An alternative method is to edit the inventory item, choose the Stock button, and use the Set Status button to edit the item.

A serialized item which has been sold reveals the Sold status, invoice number, and to whom (Customer Account) it was sold.

The Note field is for recording any extra-ordinary information about the item

The Log shows when the item came into the store and how it has been handled in the interim.

How To Change Status of a Serial Number

When an inventory item is sold or returned and the serial number properly selected the status will be changed automatically.  In the event mistakes were made, you can manually change the status of the item.

1) click on the appropriate radio button under status

2) clear out or enter the correct invoice number

3) clear out or enter the correct customer account number
