Track budgets per GL Account
1) go to Accounting: Chart of Accounts
2) highlight a GL Account number for which you want to set a budget amount (One which is an income, expense, or cost of sales account)
3) choose the Edit button at the bottom of the screen
4) select the "Actual / Budget" tab - Note, you can enter dollar values into each of the 12 periods.
In the future you can also...
5) click on the button at the bottom left "Set Budget Amounts" for automated entries
... Set budget amount based on (select one: Last year budget, Last year actual, Current budget
... Percentage
... Adjust non-zero amounts by _______
............Apply adjustment even if budget amount is zero
Select Fiscal Period Range for Changes
... Starting fiscal period
... Ending fiscal period
