Setup Helps
POSitive has 2 options for emailing your transactions:
- Microsoft Outlook
- Internal Email Client
If you use Microsoft Outlook to send and receive email messages on your computer, then you can configure PRM to send transactions through your Outlook mailbox. This method is the quickest and easiest way to setup PRM to email your transactions.
If you do not have Microsoft Outlook installed, then you can setup PRM to use your email account to send transactions. You will need to know a few things before you can setup PRM to send transaction using it's Internal email client:
- What is the POP3 server?
- What is the account name?
- What is the account password?
- What port is email sent on?
- Is SMTP authentication required?
- Is SSL and/or TLS required? (Advanced Security features)
Advanced Security
If advanced security protocol(s) are required by your email provider then your current e-mail account cannot be used for PRM Internal email - consider the Microsoft Outlook option.
POSitive Software does not include the ability to activate advanced security protocols for email accounts, so you should verify that your e-mail account provider doesn’t require this.
An example of advanced security requirements are: SSL, TLS, SPA, Kerbos.
Here is a list of e-mail providers that are known to be incompatible with POSitive Software:
-Gmail.com
-Hotmail.com
-Yahoo.com
-MSN.com
