When shipping products to a customer, you can have the shipping address verified by a 3rd Party company such as USPS.

You must obtain an account with USPS first.

See Address Verification for more information.

Get Registered with USPS

To obtain your USPS UserID, simply:

Register for the USPS Web Tools APIs

You will receive an email confirmation upon registration that will contain your newly issued USPS Web Tools User ID

The syntax of your USPS Web Tools User ID should be three numbers, followed by five alpha characters, followed by four more numbers.[NNNXXXXXNNNN]

Go to this website for registration:  https://secure.shippingapis.com/registration/

 

Enter USPS Registration Number

1)  Go to Maintenance: System Setup: Tax Options and choose the TaxCloud tab at the right

2)  Enter your USPS User ID number in the field

3)  Choose any applicable settings

-- Verify Address When Importing AutoQuote - when you start an autoquote import, you will be prompted to compare addresses of the customer information embedded in the AutoQuote and make modifications as needed.  If no customer information is included in the AutoQuote, you will be prompted to select a customer from the Customer Center which will like have had address verification already performed previously.

-- Verify Customer Address On Add  - when you are adding a new customer to the customer center, you will be prompted to compare addresses and make modifications as needed

-- Verify Shipping Address On Add - when viewing a customer's ship to addresses, you will be prompted with address verification when you choose to add an additional shipping address

4)  Choose OK to save your settings
